Happy New Year from all of us at the Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing!

It’s cold outside, but conversations about the future of Canada’s automotive industry are heating up. In our latest report, written by Brendan Sweeney and Greg Keenan, we explore the potential for a Canadian car company. This comes during a period of rapid technological and geopolitical shifts in the global automotive industry, as well as ongoing discussions about the future of trade between Canada and the United States.

The report explores long-term trends in Canada’s automotive industry, the capabilities of Canadian companies that design and manufacture vehicles, and the potential for those companies–and others–to get involved in a homegrown car company. The report is neither the start nor the end of the conversation, but our contribution at the beginning of a year that will likely be vital in charting the future direction of the automotive industry in Canada.

In other news, Making it in Ontario, the official podcast of the Trillium Network, is back! Join us later this week as Greg and Brendan discuss the report and the potential for a Canadian car company.
