The automotive industry is critical to the economic prosperity of Canada and its communities. However, Canada’s automotive industry has undergone significant restructuring over the past decade. This restructuring has impacted the industry’s competitiveness and composition.

These changes, as well as the future trajectory of Canada’s automotive industry, were the subject of discussion at a meeting of the Ontario Auto Mayors in Oakville, Ontario on November 29th, 2019. A diverse group of industry stakeholders heard from Flavio Volpe (President, Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association), Brendan Sweeney (Managing Director, Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing), and representatives of the Government of Ontario. The Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing looks forward to future collaborations with the Ontario Auto Mayors, the APMA, and the Government of Ontario.
