Waterloo Forming and Crash Lab
Based at the University of Waterloo, the Waterloo Forming and Crash Lab is a research lab focused on improving automotive safety through advanced manufacturing. Its research focuses on the characterization and prediction of the behaviour of materials and structures under large plastic strains and/or elevated rates of deformation using a balance of experimental and analytical methods.
Simply put, the Waterloo Forming and Crash Lab studies the response of advanced high-strength and light-weight materials and structures to the gross deformation conditions that occur during manufacturing operations and impact events.
