Waterloo Centre for Automotive Research (WatCAR)

Organizational focus: The Waterloo Centre for Automotive Research (WatCAR) focuses on collaborative research in automotive and transportation systems. 

Who they are: Based at the University of Waterloo, WatCAR conducts advanced research to further automotive innovation. It works with industry partners globally to enhance vehicles, components, and materials with new approaches that integrate innovative technologies. 

What they offer: Researchers and facilities at WatCAR focus on several areas including connected and autonomous systems, lightweighting and fabrication, powertrain and emissions, software and data, as well as structure and safety. WatCAR also hosts seven manufacturing research groups that are focused on forming and moulding, welding and joining, machining, durability, and crashworthiness.
