Organizational Focus: The Science Discovery Zone (SDZ) takes an evidence-based approach to testing big ideas and discovering new scientific ventures.
Who they are: Based at Toronto Metropolitan University, SDZ serves as an incubation hub for science entrepreneurship. It works to integrate hands-on experience with innovation, by allowing entrepreneurs and students to develop transferable skills related to product development, validation, and business operations.
What they offer: SDZ’s programs support companies at any stage of development. It provides entrepreneurs with skill development opportunities, research and technology development support, commercialization assistance, and a network of scientific talent. Its entrepreneurs have access to several facilities including a chemistry lab, two biology labs, and a fabrication lab.
