Organizational focus: The Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance (OAFIA) focuses on research and innovation that assists Ontario’s agri-food sector.
Who they are: OAFIA is a research and innovation collaboration between the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs and the University of Guelph. Its research facilities and laboratories work to ensure there is consistent access to healthy and safe food, and that farmers and businesses have the information they need to be competitive and sustainable.
What they offer: The alliance operates 14 different research centres located across Ontario, that vary in their agri-food expertise, ranging from animals to crops. Its labs provide diagnostic and analytical services to a broad array of agri-food clients, including those in government, industry and academia.
