Occupational Biomechanics and Ergonomics Lab (OBEL)

Organizational focus: The Occupational Biomechanics and Ergonomics Lab (OBEL) focuses on research about optimizing human function and performance in the workplace. 

Who they are: Based at the University of Waterloo, OBEL is a research lab focused on improving human performance in the workplace by applying principles of biomechanics, motor control and ergonomics. It works with government and industry to generate intellectual property that can be transferred to support commercialization.

What they offer: OBEL conducts research that leads to development and commercialization of tools that can measure, evaluate, predict and improve occupational performance. Its work spans four research themes including the discovery determinant of movement behaviour, advancing functional capacity, digital human modelling, and informing better, safer products.
