Downsview Aerospace Innovation & Research (DAIR)
Downsview Aerospace Innovation & Research (DAIR) aims to revolutionize the collaboration environment by catalyzing innovation in aerospace and beyond. DAIR brings key Ontario aerospace players to a centralized location to enable more effective collaboration and skills training, and better position Canada to compete in an increasingly competitive global aerospace industry.
As an aerospace hub, DAIR leverages co-location and collaboration with the Bombardier Centre for Aerospace and Aviation, the Innovation Centre, the Centennial College Landing Gear Innovation Laboratory and the Aerospace Engineering Centre at Toronto Metropolitan University. Facilities include aircraft hangars, a frictionless space environment for satellite and star-tracking technologies, as well as labs for electrical, avionics, structural components, robotics, CNC programming, engines and composites. DAIR’s contributing members are able to secure space in the in-development Innovation Centre, pitch R&D projects to industry or academic members, attend events, or inquire about joining a DAIR working group.
