Design Fabrication Zone – The Innovation Studio
Based at Toronto Metropolitan University, the Design Fabrication Zone (DFZ) is an interdisciplinary hub for design and fabrication that strategically propels early-stage ideas for inventions, businesses, and installations along the continuum – from design to prototype to mass manufacturing. With access to fabrication space and equipment, members of the DFZ are able to conduct hands-on experimentation and prototyping at various levels from preliminary to advanced.
The Innovation Studio at 110 Bond Street is the hub of DFZ activities. It connects emerging and established makers, artists, technologists, entrepreneurs, researchers, and academics, in a collaborative community devoted to creative exploration, cross-disciplinary innovation, and creative excellence. The Innovation Studio has prototyping space with tools & equipment for fashion, design fabrication and media work, bookable meeting rooms, hot desk space, assigned fixed desk space, a reception area, two kitchenettes, and a flexible event space.
