Centre for Applied AI (CAI)
Organizational focus: The Centre for Applied AI (CAI), formerly the Centre for Mobile Innovation, focuses on creating technological solutions to industry-relevant challenges.
Who they are: Based at Sheridan College, CAI is a research centre that generates solutions through the use of advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, wearable computing, augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), and machine learning. CAI’s research projects are generated directly from the challenges of small and medium-sized enterprises.
What they offer: CAI’s facilities include two labs covering more than 2,000 square feet and equipped with various resources, including NVIDIA DGX stations tailored for machine learning research, an array of virtual and mixed reality tools such as Microsoft Hololens, IoT sensors and devices, and comprehensive software development and source code management tools.
