Centre for Advanced Polymer Processing and Design (CAPPA-D)

Organizational focus: The Centre for Advanced Polymer Processing and Design (CAPPA-D) focuses on research, education, and technology transfer in polymer processing and rheology.

Who they are: Based at McMaster University, CAPPA-D is a research centre that is home to several working groups contributing to polymer processing research in the areas of environmental engineering, biomedical studies, membrane making, turbulence modelling and experimentation, separations, process systems analysis, and applied mathematics.

What they offer: CAPPA-D is involved in the formulation, conversion, and characterization of plastics, mathematical modelling of single and twin screw extrusion, coextrusion, injection moulding, thermoforming, rotational moulding, film blowing, reactive extrusion, mixing, and coating. CAPPA-D has access to several graphics workstations to assist their modelling work.
