Organizational focus: The Centre for Automotive Materials and Corrosion (CAMC) connects leading scientists and partners to advance materials engineering research for diverse applications. 

Who they are: Based at McMaster University’s Automotive Resource Centre, CAMC works with leading scientists, industry partners, and students to test materials’ mechanical and environmental degradation limits. Equipped with diverse instruments, CAMC addresses challenges in industries such as pipelines, sensors, and biomaterials.

What they offer: CAMC’s research focuses on materials engineering themes, including lightweight material systems, material degradation and protection, and joining issues as they apply to automotive material innovations. Particular focus is on the development of high-strength steel and aluminum alloys intended for automotive weight reduction and safety applications.
