Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC)

Organizational focus: The Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC) develops innovative bioproducts that can substitute for non-renewable materials across sectors. 

Who they are: Located at the University of Guelph, BDDC is an interdisciplinary research centre where plant biologists, chemists, and engineers converge to investigate and commercialize biomaterials. The BDDC conducts research to develop green bioproducts, including bio-based plastics and green composites

What they offer: The BDDC partners with companies and research organizations on biomaterials projects and products. It provides access to five laboratory facilities staffed by graduate and postdoctoral students specializing in polymer science, chemical engineering, applied microbiology, and advanced material science.
