Organizational focus: The Automation and Intelligent Systems Group (AIS) focuses on advancing vehicle control systems design and optimization.
Who they are: Based at the University of Waterloo’s Smart Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems Lab, AIS develops advanced technologies for a variety of applications, including in the automotive, robotics, and space sectors. AIS works on projects for industry partners supported by public and private research institutes.
What they offer: AIS develops technologies related to vehicle controls, perception systems, modelling, and automation. These technologies are being developed for intelligent systems in four areas: connected hybrid and electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicle quadrotors, and artificial intelligence applications.
