Dave Hudson has over 40 years of work experience in the areas of strategic planning, project management and customer relationships in both the private and public sectors:
Government sector experience
After 5 years with the federal government, Dave had a 15-year career with the Government of Alberta, rising to the Deputy Minister level. He was responsible for departments such as Consumer and Corporate Affairs, and Alberta Registries (now Service Alberta), which was one of the first initiatives in government to gather registry departments under one umbrella to improve responsiveness to customers. During his tenure in that department he privatized the delivery of services to the public, and initiated the outsourcing of information technology services. Dave left the public service in 1994.
Private sector experience
In 1994 Dave joined CGI, now Canada’s largest IT services company. He led the Business Engineering group in Western Canada that managed large opportunities, and was also responsible for ensuring that CGI’s service offerings and responses to governments and other industry sectors met customers’ business requirements. While at CGI Dave was seconded to the federal government in 2008 and became the government’s lead negotiator for the Mackenzie gas pipeline project. From 2009 to 2011 he was Managing Director of CGI Australia, and in 2012-13 was CGI’s Asia-Pacific integration lead for the company’s acquisition of Logica plc.
Dave retired from CGI in December of 2013.
