Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) is a national association of companies across Canada that produce parts, equipment, tools, supplies and services for the global automotive industry. Its members account for an estimated 90% of independent parts production in Canada, representing over $25 billion in automotive parts shipments and employing over 85,000 people. APMA’s central mission is to promote the O.E. automotive supply manufacturing industry within Canada and abroad, as well as to serve as a representative of the industry to the Federal and Provincial governments. It also facilitates new market opportunities and exchange of market information through strategic alliances with its counterparts in the United States, Brazil, Europe, India, Japan, Mexico, and China. APMA is committed to the success of the Canadian auto parts industry by organizing trade and procurement missions, conferences, and regional workshops for its members. It provides a comprehensive range of industry-related data and resources, such as programs that train companies in manufacturing excellence, cutting operational costs, and expanding business opportunities. APMA has successfully defended the interests of its constituents in various important initiatives such as the Canada-South Korea Free Trade Agreement increased funding for R&D programs, as well as securing a winning position on Canada’s challenge to the World Trade Organization of China’s treatment of automotive parts imported from Canada.
